Jiachen Zeng

Jiachen Zeng is a mixed-media artist. She is an alumni at the Royal College of Art in London UK and has got her Master of Art degree in 2022 from the sculpture department. She finished her Bachelor of Art degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago majoring in Painting and Drawing and graduated in 2019. She completed the International Foundation Course from China Central Academy of Fine Art in 2016 after graduated from the Affiliated High School in China Academy of Art in 2015. She has attended various group exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai, Chicago and London, including Beijing One Atelier, Tong Gallery+Projects, Yue Gallery, Shanghai West Bund Art Centre, Yao Space, Chicago Zhou B Art Center, London Lychee One Gallery, RuptureXIBIT, Barge House, Standpoint Gallery, etc.

Zeng’s works are mainly installations, paintings and drawings that involve performative and interactive elements. Her artistic attention is always about spiritual and physical boundaries. She expands on different materials by finding, breaking, or connecting those boundaries to interlock or interrupt the existing balanced ecologies of daily occurrences, which include relationships between people, unforgettable memories, and fetishes about meaningful objects.
