Orson Campos
Orson Gacek Campos (b. 2002, Newcastle-Upon Tyne) is a London-based Brazilian-British artist. He is a Fine Art: Painting graduate from the University of the Arts London, Camberwell. Campos works primarily in the medium of acrylic on canvas, with which he uses figurative imagery to explore personal narratives and universal ideas.
Campos’ Brazilian heritage informs his spirited colour palette as well as his expressive use of paint and mark making techniques. Campos aims to immerse the viewer in his pictures that provide relatable scenes at a life sized scale in which the audience is invited to experience and enter.
Campos’ vibrant works explore the temporality of the human experience as well as resistance against the adversity that is faced throughout the journey we call life. He uses themes such as the sublime and portraiture to explore and consider our mortality, as well as document time.
