Running from 15th to 23rd November, The Party’s Over explores the interplay of rage, restraint, and revelry that characterises life in an era marked by social, political, and economic precarity. Based in the UK, Doireann Gillan is an Irish multidisciplinary artist whose work challenges conventional boundaries.
The exhibition features sculptural forms that command space and push the limits of materials such as steel and stretched rubber under duress, emphasising the role of humour in confronting structural inequalities. Doireann delights in transgression, using playful provocation to challenge societal norms. Through paradox and bold expression, she invites us to consider whether art can disrupt traditional views of culture and behaviour, thereby creating space for new possibilities.
